PerformanceTown, USA
Thursday, September 24 - Friday, September 25 , Product Showcase
Pay a visit to PerformanceTown, USA…right in the Product Showcase!
This interactive, hands-on training exhibit, created by the National Comfort Institute, features five (5) test stations where participants can measure one or more elements of a live HVAC system’s performance. The professionals from NCI will be on hand as your personal “tour guide” through Performance Town USA.
Runs continuously during show hours on Thursday & Friday.
Test Stations:
Blower Boulevard – Learn the steps required to adjust a variable speed fan using dip switches and published manufacturer’s data. Test the amperage and watch the power consumption rise as static pressure increases.
Pressure Drop Hill – You can measure static pressures on this live HVAC system. Test total external static pressure using digital and analog manometers. Identify the pressure drops over a wide variety of air filters and plot fan airflow to see the airflow effects of each filter.
Efficiency Ally – Pressure and temperature measurements will be taken and combined with plotting air flow from manufacturer’s fan performance data to calculate the Effective Efficiency of a cooling system using NCI’s HeatMaxx and CoolMaxx reports.
Traverse Terrace – Learn to quickly measure the air volume passing through a supply and return duct. Identify supply or return duct CFM under live operating conditions by measuring fan airflow using this proven air balancing test. Use today’s improved test instruments to perform this test as the your instrument completes all calculations for you in one easy test.
Performance Peak – What if you could rate or score the operating efficiency of the air conditioning and heating systems that you install? Learn about NCI’s installed system efficiency ratings by measuring this live HVAC system. Measure wet bulb readings and use them to calculate delivered cooling system BTU to rate the system performance. What’s the score of the comfort system in your home?
